Marriage is not just a contract between two individuals that can be broken. Marriage was intended by God to be a Covenant between 3 individuals: one man, one woman and God. way too often we forget that God is part of our marriage covenant and we don’t invest in cultivating this relationship, it grows weak and dull. But when we take time an Invest in our marriage together through studying God’s word, we find ourselves revitalized and rejuvenated in spirit and in Body.
One book of the bible in particular shows the true progression of Love and Marriage, that book is the Song of Solomon. Song of Solomon celebrates the Love of Solomon and his bride, known as “The Shulamite” it shows the excitement of courtship, the necessity of the marriage, the intimacy of the wedding night and subsequent nights. Yes the bible has that kind of stuff too! So take time and study it together and grow through reading as God intended for us to do.
Song of Solomon also shows the tender friendship that we need to cultivate daily with our spouse. I encourage you dear reader to maintain a healthy marriage, let your spouse, know you are interested in what they are interested in even if you just show them support or lend a listening ear.I promise it will truly make a difference in your daily life.
So in closing I challenge each of you to think of the third individual in your marriage, if you allow him to participate in your marriage then your life will change. God is waiting for you to take the next step, he has given you the “playbook” for life through the inspired word of God, why not use this resource daily? that would almost be as smart as having a working vehicle and still walking 10 miles to work, you just wouldn't do that or at least I know I wouldn’t.
